Celebrate Halloween by coming to NCHS’s production of Jack the Ripper: the Monster of Whitechapel. A comical but scary treatment of the serial killer who terrorized London in the 1800's. Jack's reign of terror has begun, and Sir Charles Warren, a totally inept British Lord, has been appointed Commissioner of Police to apprehend him. Jack, it seems, practices black magic, which requires murderous sacrifices to assure him additional years of life. Four women are murdered (but are given a wickedly humorous touch by the victims themselves!), and the play revolves around the attempts to save the fifth Angela Ellison, a reformed girl of the streets. With three different endings with a different murderer revealed at each performance, this show will keep you guessing until the final scene. Recommended for ages 10 and up, performances will be Nov. 1st at 7pm and Nov 2nd at 2pm and 7pm in the auditorium.
Bring the whole family to The Lightning Thief, the Percy Jackson Musical at New Canaan High School! As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him. Adapted from the best-selling book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed mythical adventure "worthy of the gods". Performances will be Nov. 22nd at 7pm and Nov. 23rd at 2pm and 7pm.
